Friends of Efrat is a group of volunteers who identify strongly with
Efrat's goal that no Jewish child should be lost to the Jewish People due
to the economic concerns of the parents. A corollary of that goal is
that no Jewish woman should have to go through an abortion due to financial
concerns.
Most of the "Friends" are people who at one time visited the Efrat office in
Jerusalem and were so profoundly moved by the experience that they wanted to
express their solidarity with our life-saving work on a continuous basis.
Friends of Efrat is a small group of "mini-philanthropists" who have taken
upon themselves of saving a minimum of one Jewish child a year. For $100 a
month for a year on your credit card (which is less than $4 a day for a
year!) you can save the life of a Jewish child in Israel. $300 a month, for
example, would save the lives of three Jewish children every year.
Sometimes members of our "Friends" circle take upon themselves to pay for
specific projects or publicity drives which helps Efrat keeps its over head
low. This website, for example, was paid for by a "Friend of Efrat".

Note: All the money contributed on our contribution page goes directly to
Israel to help mothers and their children. Efrat has no paid staff or
office outside of Israel. The American Friends of Efrat has no office or
paid staff. The American Friends New York city address is the home of a
volunteer. There is no secretary to answer your call on the 1-800 since
this too would be an overhead expense. Messages which are left on the 1-800
# are retrieved and returned from someone calling from the Efrat office in
Israel.
